Development Manager 
  
General Scope of Responsibility
The Development Manager is responsible for PushPush Theater's fundraising and communications activities at the direction of the Artistic Directors.  The position is highly focused on developing relationships, collaboration, renewing and upgrading annual gifts and providing excellent customer service. 

Base salary begins in the 20's, commensurate with experience, plus bonus.
2-year commitment required.

Specific Development Responsibilities 

Fund Development:  

  • Create and implement the plans for all development activities, working closely with the Directors, staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers. 
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, close and steward major gift prospects and donors for PushPush Theater from individuals, corporations, foundations, and organizations.
  • Increase corporate, foundation, civic and individual financial support through the development of grant proposals and all supporting materials and strategies. 
  • Create and direct annual giving program.
  • Direct the fundraising programs, including creation of financial goals and communication materials, as well as identification, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors. Work closely with all personnel and management in meeting annual goals. 
  • Manage fundraising special events and other cultivation events. Achieve net financial goals for fundraising events. 
  • Supervise Development Assistants and volunteers.  

Financial/Budget Development:

  • Work with existing staff and Board to maintain and raise 200k annual budget.
  • Develop and manage receipt and expense budget for development activities.  
  • Develop fundraising plans (including Corporate and Individual Major donation program) complete with annual fundraising goals.  
  • Modify programs to provide for increased funding needs. 
  • Work with existing staff and Board to make position self-sustaining at the end of second year.

Board Relations:  

  • Assist Directors and staff and the Board of Directors in identification and recruiting prospective members to be board members.  
  • Assist the Board in identification, cultivation and stewardship of prospective and current donors.  
  • Work with Board of Directors to provide focus, direction, and presentation proposals to obtain financial donations.  
  • Information Management:  
  • Ensure appropriate financial administration of contributions including overseeing the maintenance of the database, software, and donor and prospect records.  
  • Train and supervise appropriate staff and/or volunteers on donor database software.

Community Relations:  

  • Represent the organization at various events and conferences.  
  • Develop, implement, and participate in events to increase community visibility and fundraising.  
  • Seek opportunities in community and professional organizations to distribute information about programs.  
  • Develop and coordinate proposals for in-kind and sponsorship contributions.  
  • Participate in organizational marketing to strengthen funding development and organizational visibility. 

Communications:  

  • Write and produce email newsletters in cooperation with staff and volunteers.  
  • Create press releases and pitch letters to local/regional news outlets for promotions and events as necessary.  
  • Oversee and help create all materials used in promoting activities in the community.  
  • Create and provide the Board of Directors and staff appropriate reports with regard to current donors and prospective donors.  
  • Oversee the organization’s web site (design, operation, security concerns). 

  
Qualifications 

Education:

Bachelor's degree required, graduate degree preferred in Non-Profit Management or related fields.  

Experience:  

  • A minimum of 3 years of successful and verifiable experience in fundraising and staff supervision.  
  • Proven track record of fundraising success, including increasing overall funds raised and development of creative fundraising activities/events.  
  • Proven track record in success working with individual, corporate and foundation major gift prospects and donors.  
  • Ability to work harmoniously with staff and motivate board members, volunteers and other constituents.  
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.  
  • Working knowledge of Atlanta area philanthropy.  
  • Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively in a group with a variety of people.  
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
  • Ability to create and conduct effective presentations.   
  • Experience in film industry, specifically independent film production, a plus. 
  • Familiarity with PushPush Theater a plus.
